Additional Information about the Area
This historic city was named for John McLean, owner of the Washington Post and one of the forces behind the building of the Great Falls and Old Dominion Railroad in the early 1900s. The short-lived trolley connected parts of Fairfax County and Arlington to Georgetown in Washington, DC.
These days, commuters use the McLean Silver Line or drive—the Capital Beltway as well as George Washington Memorial Parkway along the river are popular options. From splendid parks and golf courses to great restaurants and retail, McLean is one of the DC area’s most popular places to live.
