More about Properties for Sale near Tysons Corner Silver Line
The central part of Tysons Corner is often associated with contemporary glass and steel structures. That certainly applies to luxury condos for sale in the area, and as noted above, the trend toward new construction will continue forward. However, there are also detached single-family homes and even some older properties.
But Tysons is also an expanding “edge city.” That means the boundaries between surrounding communities like McLean and Falls Church are becoming ever more amorphous. As a result, home buyers will find an interesting selection of residential properties for sale, with houses, condominiums and townhouses.
Additional Information about the Area
This is an area with a long history, dating back hundreds of years and once known as Peach Grove. That changed when William Tyson purchased a large swath of land in the 1850s and set up shops with a post office and other small businesses at a sleepy intersection. The community was dubbed Tyson’s Crossroads, and later, Tyson’s Corner.
The 1960s brought dramatic changes with the construction of Tyson’s Corner Shopping Center. Progress continued with even more retail, and the eventual dropping of both an apostrophe and the reference to “Corner.” Fairfax County planners now envision Tysons expanding from around 20,000 residents to 100,000 by 2050, along with 200,000 workers.
Once a place known for its orchards, Tysons continues its march forward. To learn more about homes, condos and townhouses for sale near the Metro Silver Line, call District Partners at Compass, 202-798-3600.
