What Defines Modern and Contemporary Condos?

Modern and contemporary are different terms that are often used interchangeably.

Modernism was a design movement that sprung to life in the early 1900s, continuing forward to the Mid-Century Modern Movement that was popular from the late 1940s to the very early 1970s. From bold angles to huge windows, modern design is an umbrella from which many offshoots have sprouted.

Contemporary design basically means that which is new, or of the moment. But it has broadly come to represent new design trends that began in the 1970s, representing a break from typical styles that came before.

Put it all together and modern and contemporary as a combined category means that which breaks away from older and more traditional forms, such as Colonial, Victorian or Federal architecture.
