Parker Flats at Gage School Condos For Sale
Located at 2035 2nd Street NW | 150 V Street NW | 2020-2022 Flagler Place NW, Washington DC 20001
Washington, DC real estate developers have a fascination with converting historic old school buildings into luxury condos for sale. The Parker Flats at Gage School are yet another example. The original brick schoolhouse building was designed in the Georgian Revival style by Lemuel Norris, and delivered in 1904. Located in historic LeDroit Park, the school was named after Nathanial Parker Gage—a popular school administrator. A second, smaller building, was added two years later.
The Gage School, located in historic LeDroit Park, served students for 70 years, and thereafter stood vacant for three decades—marred by gaping holes and missing pieces. In 2002, nearby Howard University bought the property and attempted without success to bring it back to life as part of a community improvement initiative.

Two years later, the school partnered with Urban Realty Advisors and Bonstra Haresign Architects. Working with the city’s historic preservation office, the team began the process of adding two new buildings, preserving as much of the original schoolhouse as possible, and integrating the redevelopment into an attractive campus-like setting with a grassy courtyard as well as 71 underground parking spaces.
Parker Flats at the Gage School went to market in 2007, with 92 residential units between the multiple and similarly designed structures. Condos for sale have recently listed between $300,000 and $500,000, with a variety of models, including one-bedrooms, one-bedrooms with dens, and two-bedrooms.
Inside, you’ll find open living spaces with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and ceilings as high as 14 feet. The open gourmet kitchens feature maple cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Some of the units have balconies.
The complex has multiple addresses—150 V Street NW, 2035 2nd Street NW, and 2020-2022 Flager Place NW. The development, which also has a fitness center, is within walking distance of the historic Howard Theatre, and local eateries like the Big Bear Café.
LeDroit Park is known for its distinctive Victorian row houses, many of which were built by prominent architect James McGill. Surrounding neighborhoods include Bloomingdale, Shaw, the U Street Corridor and Eckington.
