Additional Information about the Area
Originally farm land, Virginia Square was residentially developed in the early 1900s. The quaint little community went through a growth spurt after construction of the Virginia Square Shopping Center in 1952. The opening of the Metro station in 1979, plus the presence of multiple schools of higher learning, fueled more changes, including the redevelopment of the old shopping center in favor of FDIC offices.
Today, residents can walk to shops and restaurants on Clarendon and Wilson Boulevards. There’s also a local Trader Joe’s, the lovely Quincy Park and the added lure of bordering communities. To learn more, call District Partners at 202-798-3600.
