More about Properties for Sale near East Falls Church Silver Line
Homes for sale in East Falls Church date back to the late 1800s. Residential development has continued right up to the present, albeit with some lulls along the way. Real estate shoppers can find a wide array of architectural styles and ages, from Victorian and Colonial Revival all the way to new custom Arts & Crafts trophy homes.
There are also condos and townhouses for sale, chiefly near the intersection of I-66, Lee Highway and Fairfax Drive. Those residences are in close proximity to the Metro station. However, the station’s location in the median of I-66 means that access isn’t especially walk-friendly.
Home shoppers who want to be within a reasonable driving distance of the Metro might also want to consider adjacent neighborhoods such as Leeway, Allencrest and Westover.
Additional Information about the Area
The oldest section of the community is dubbed the East Falls Church Neighborhood Center District, and butts right up against the Arlington/Fairfax border and the Metro station. That means folks looking for those lovely old Craftsman homes for sale will also get the luxury of being near Metrorail transit.
But this is also a neighborhood going through an evolutionary process. Arlington planners would like to create a walk-friendly environment around the Neighborhood Center District, preserving historic structures while adding new mixed-use condos as well as restaurants and other businesses. Locals, however, are a bit more circumspect about changes to a largely residential community.
