The neighborhood dates back to Pierre L’Enfant’s original plan for the District. In the early days it was known as Iowa Circle and during the Civil War was home to Camp Barker—a barracks converted into a camp for freed slaves. Logan Circle Neighborhood Information

Logan’s Circle has seen its share of transition over the years. It was home to Washington’s elite in its early years, a Jazz mecca, a commercial hub, a blighted community and now a vibrant upscale neighborhood with some of the most sought after homes and condos for sale in the District. The inventory isn’t what it was a few years ago, however—the fabulous ornate row houses that were once the market’s bread and butter aren’t quite as plentiful and are a whole lot more expensive. 

That’s not to say there aren’t available listings—condos for sale start around $250,000 for small studio and one-bedroom units while at the top end, a ten-bedroom Victorian row house in its entirety recently went on the market for $4.1 million.
