Water View Properties for Sale in the Washington Metropolitan Area
The Washington Metropolitan area is known for just about every kind of property under the sun—even those with water views. True, there aren’t ocean beaches in the typical sense. But there are certainly bodies of water, including the mighty Potomac River and the Anacostia River. There are also numerous tributaries, lakes and ponds. Plus harbors, bays, coves and marshes.
The mighty Potomac flows throughout the Washington region, creating borders between DC and Maryland on the river’s left descending bank and Northern Virginia on the opposite bank. It is also joined by the Anacostia River at the south of DC, thus forming a formidable fork that flanks the Southwest and Southeast waterfront regions. Additionally, the elongated Columbia Island off DC’s Southwestern coast creates additional bodies of water—the Washington Channel and Tidal Basin.
