Germantown, MD Homes For Sale

With over 90,000 residents, the community of Germantown is Maryland’s third-most populated place. It also has a ton of homes for sale, ranging from foreclosed condos to supersized custom mansions. Located in affluent Montgomery County, this very large township covers 11 square miles and continues to evolve, with new upscale subdivisions popping up at a manageable pace.

While this early crossroads community dates back to the 1790s, its larger residential expansion didn’t begin in earnest until much later. In the early 1960s, the county laid out a reshaping of the area as a “Corridor City,” preserving large portions of natural green space (including Seneca Creek State Park) and limiting rampant overdevelopment. About a decade later, widespread residential and commercial development begin, albeit with certain conservation restrictions.
