Clinton, MD Homes For Sale
Clinton, Maryland is something of a modern boom town, albeit with tons of local history. This town of 36,000 residents has more than doubled its population since 1980. You might think that would create a housing crunch but not to worry—a construction spike for new custom homes for sale during the mid-2000s added lots of inventory. Yet at the same time, the boom inadvertently helped fuel a buyer's market.
How did that happen? Basically speaking, the housing boom collided with the national real estate crash. Prince George's County was especially affected and the result was a sustained plunge of real estate prices that didn't hit bottom until around 2012. This was great new for all the new home buyers who continued moving to pleasant, upscale Clinton. There is a fairly astonishing array of new or fairly new oversized brick or stone custom homes, ranging from around $350,000 to just under a million dollars. Mixed in with some of the most affordable Clifton, MD real estate deals are some short sales. To learn more about Clifton, MD homes for sale, give our team of real estate professionals a call today!

More About the Clifton, MD Real Estate Market
Clinton offers a rather curious and fateful bit of history. During the 1850s, John Surratt, wife Mary and their kids, moved to this rural crossroads village and began opening local businesses, renaming the community Surrattsville. After John died, Mary and her children moved to Washington, DC, where she ran a boarding house and colluded with John Wilkes Booth in the assassination of President Lincoln. Mary was the first woman to be hung in this country. Surratsville, meanwhile, renamed itself Clinton.
Home prices in Clinton start at around $100,000 and climb gradually. Clifton, Maryland condos for sale are primarily of the townhouse variety, and provide the opportunity for luxury living at a highly affordable rate.
