Brentwood, MD Homes For Sale
Brentwood is a small town in Maryland near the Washington, DC border with surprisingly affordable homes for sale. Like many other parts of Prince George's County, the real estate market took a tumble during the real estate crash of the mid-2000s. Prices have been rebounding as of late but there's still a lot of ground to make up. That's good news for buyers, of course, as it means some real bargains, including short sales. But the inventory is shrinking as value-seekers swoop in.
What kinds of prices are we talking about? How about detached single-family homes for sale, starting in the $100s and climbing to about $750,000? And Craftsman enthusiasts take note—a lot of the properties, including short sales, are those beloved Sears Roebuck catalog homes from the early part of the twentieth century. Better hurry if you want to nab one of these excellent porch front bungalows on the cheap! Ready to start searching Brentwood, MD homes for sale? Start clicking below!

More About the Brentwood, MD Real Estate Market
Home to only about 3,000 residents, this quaint little town dates back to 1817 and a estate named Brentwood, built by Robert Brent—the first mayor of Washington, DC. It wasn't until the early 1920s that more widespread residential development began to occur, however. Construction continued sporadically, mostly tapering off during the 1960s, except for a few newer homes here and there.
Condos for sale in Brentwood are almost entirely made up of row houses, usually boxy two-story porchfront buildings from the 1930s and 40s, as well as some duplexes. That said, a new commercial development named Rhode Island Row recently arrived. Located right by the Brentwood Metro on Rhode Island Avenue, this mixed-use project features retro-styled row house apartment rentals with ground-level retail and restaurants.
Located between the Gateway Arts District and the DC border, this diverse, fun little community is in the midst of an ongoing revitalization movement. With its highly affordable homes for sale, Brentwood real estate for sale offers a great opportunity for those who work in the nation's capital but have been priced out of its more expensive neighborhoods.
