More about Properties for Sale near West Hyattsville Green Line

Hyattsville is known for its fabulous Craftsman bungalows and cottages. But that’s not the only property type in the area. Architectural styles include Victorian, Colonial Revival, Cape Cod, Rambler and various mid-century designs. In addition to historic homes for sale, there are newer residences as well.

And while the majority of homes are detached single-family structures, there are also duplexes, townhouses and condos for sale. The downside of affordable prices and attractive properties in recent years has been an increasingly tight inventory. This runs somewhat contrary to many parts of Prince Georges County, where a buyers’ market is still in effect.

Additional Information about the Area

This part of the Washington Metro area dates back to early farmers, and was once known as Beale Town. The arrival of the B&O Railroad ushered in more development, and by 1845, businessman named Christopher Hyatt opened a general store. He eventually named the town after himself.

Today, Hyattsville and West Hyattsville account for around 18,500 residents. It’s a culturally diverse location, rich in the arts. Businesses run the gamut from local cafes and galleries to the Mall at Prince Georges.
