The Silver Line is one of three electric rail transit routes provided at the Smithsonian Metro Station in Washington, DC. The other lines are the Blue and Orange. The station is located steps from the southern part of the National Mall, at 1200 Independence Avenue SW in Washington, DC.
This part of the District is rich in cultural attractions and is named for the Smithsonian Institute, also known as The Castle for its Gothic architecture. There are not, however, a large number of residential properties in the immediate vicinity—the land is primarily devoted to government buildings, parks, monuments, museums and hotels.
