Trinidad Condos For Sale
In a city so well known for soaring home prices, Trinidad is a neighborhood that offers some bargains. That’s a relative phrase, of course, given Washington, DC’s red-hot real estate market. But all caveats aside, condos for sale in Trindad tend to list lower than many other parts of the District.
Trinidad is in the city’s Northeast quadrant, north of the H Street Corridor and east of Gallaudet University. Other nearby communities include Ivy City, Carver Langston and Near Northeast.

Trindad’s History
Legend has it that Trindad got its name from a 19th century businessman and land speculator named James Barry, who once lived on the tropical island. It is also home to one of the nation’s oldest colleges, Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, founded in 1821 and now known as George Washington University.
Real Estate at a Glance in Trindad
Residential development occurred gradually in Trinidad, picking up steam in the early 1900s with row houses, single-family homes and apartment buildings. Those old row houses, along with restored apartment building conversions, form the backbone of the current condo market.
Home prices have a wide range, starting in the low six figures and climbing all the way to seven figure territory.
More About the Trinidad Neighborhood
Trinidad went through a period of urban blight during the 1970s and the following decades. But the new millennium brought positive renewal, capped by the founding of the Trinidad Neighborhood Association in 2009. Community leaders and members of the ANC and local churches have worked hard to foster sustained economic growth.
The Trindad of today is a place that’s riding a wave of revitalization with a new rec center, a dog park, colorful murals and a slowly growing number of local restaurants. There’s also the restored Atlas Performing Arts Center right next-door in the H Street Corridor.
