Designed in the International style of architecture, the large structure has a very distinctive appearance, set back from the street with an H-shape that allows for a circular front drive and an arched canopy awning to welcome residents and guests. Completed in 1975, the Elizabeth was the product of an extended period of residential construction in the Village of Friendship Heights, the larger Chevy Chase area, and next-door Bethesda. Other condo buildings in the neighborhood include the Carleton right across the street, as well as Somerset House.
