Luxury Residential Living, the Ritz-Carlton Way
The Ritz-Carlton hotel chain dates back over a century, although the one that created the most lasting impression, setting the bar for the future of the upscale chain, was the Ritz-Carlton in Boston, Massachusetts. The latest wrinkle in the luxury brand occurred when Ritz-Carlton opened their first Residences condominium in Washington, DC in 2000.
Since then, the company has expanded the concept of integrating hotel and condo sites. The idea of pairing elegant dwellings with full-service amenities such as private chefs for in-residence meals, helped spur rapid expansion. Ritz-Carlton now offers their Residences in most major cities including Boston, Miami Beach, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and multiple locations in Hawaii, just to name a few. There are two Ritz-Carlton condominiums in Washington, DC: the one in Georgetown and one in the West End as well. Ritz-Carlton condominiums can also be found all around the globe.
The lifestyle experience doesn’t end with hotels and condos, however. Ritz-Carlton is also in the resorts business, and has also expanded into luxury yacht cruises, starting with three gargantuan yachts with 149 suites, each with its own private terrace. The inaugural season for this latest pampered service is 2020.

The Georgetown Waterfront
Georgetown’s waterfront predates Washington as a city, going back more than 300 years to the days of colonial farmers, merchants and exporters. In 2011, after decades of planning, the 11-acre Georgetown Waterfront Park opened, offering a promenade to stroll upon, rain gardens, grassy areas and terraced steps leading down to the bands of sand along the Potomac River. From simple pleasures like feeding the geese to sitting at a sidewalk café and watching the world go by, the river’s edge is a delightful place to be.
You can also get out on the water yourself, with canoes, kayaks, standup paddleboards and sailboats. The Key Bridge Boathouse and Washington Canoe Club are easy walking distance from the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown. As mentioned above, the condos are also next-door to the famous Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal, dating back to the mid-1800s. The old towpaths where horses once pulled wooden boats through a series of locks, have been preserved and are now excellent places to hike. You can even ride in a replica boat!
With all the shops, bars, restaurants, live music, movies, galleries and other activities, the Georgetown waterfront is one of the nation’s premiere destination places for visitors. But it’s also an awesome place to live! To learn more about luxury condos for sale at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Georgetown, call Andre Perez at District Partners at Compass (202) 798-3600.
