The Park View Condos For Sale, Washington DC
In Washington DC’s Park View neighborhood, also commonly associated with the eastern edge of Columbia Heights, is a beautiful old building that transformed into condos for sale in 2008. The residences are referred to as “The Parkview Luxury Condos”, but in fact, the name carved into the stone archway entrance is “Park View” as two words—matching the neighborhood.
Adding to historical footnotes is the rumor that this was once a public school. However, it is not the same structure as the legendary Park View Elementary School located several blocks to the north. They sure do look similar, however. Could this building, first constructed in 1906, have been a precursor to the larger school to the north, built in 1912? We have questions, but unfortunately, no definitive answer.

Additional Info About The Park View Luxury Condo Residences
But let’s move ahead to the modern age. Step inside the handsome brick condominium and you’ll discover 24 one and two-bedroom residences, with prices typically ranging from the high $200s to mid $300s. Those are very decent rates for renovated antique buildings in this area. The reason is the location. Although rapidly gaining in popularity, the Park View enclave which is just north of Howard University, hasn’t yet soared to the same high-end real estate values as Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan to the west.
The condos themselves have been nicely restored and renovated with hardwood floors and modern kitchens with granite counters and high-end appliances. There’s also plenty of natural light from large windows, plus washer/dryer stacks, extra storage and plenty of closet space. The building is also pet friendly, and with the Bruce-Monroe Community Park a half-block away, there’s a handy place to walk your pooch!
Also worth mentioning are all the nearby clubs, cafes, and other great places to hang out with friends at. For example, there’s karaoke and DJs at the Wonderland Ballroom, hipster vibes and eclectic small plates at Lounge 11, excellent casual eats at Morgan’s Seafood, and some of the best coffee you’ll ever taste at Harrar Coffee & Roastery.
