Maryland Real Estate For Sale
From the verdant hills and dales of the countryside to bustling downtown districts, Maryland offers a microcosm of the American way of life. In fact, this charming state is often referred to as “America in Miniature” because of its appealing diversity. And, for a territory that is so well known for its luxurious homes for sale, actual list prices are extremely competitive.
Why is this? Simply put, the past decade presented a huge construction boom which coincided with the national real estate downturn of the mid-2000s. The surplus of new properties helped fuel a decline in prices. And while the market has been rebounding strongly since 2012, there is still an amazing number of great deals to be had.

More About the Maryland Real Estate Market
At the same time, contractors in Maryland’s suburbs have had to weather a long dry spell and as a result, are offering new custom home construction at remarkably reduced rates. In some areas, that has caused a pronounced ripple effect with other properties—why buy an older Colonial or Cape-style home if a developer is offering a new luxury home for the same price?
At District Partners Real Estate, we deal extensively with homes and condos for sale throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. Prince George’s offers some especially low prices on properties.
There are also specific locations that we find are especially active, including Bethesda with its impressive mansions and luxury condos; Potomac with its water views; and affluent Chevy Chase at the Maryland and Washington border. Also, the large suburbs of Rockville and Silver Spring are fertile ground for current real estate activity, providing large, value-added inventories.
Although there are countless communities not mentioned here, it is worth noting the number of small towns near the DC border where amazing deals can be had, including artists’ havens like Hyattsville and Mount Rainier with their wealth of original Sears Roebuck Modern homes, popularly referred to as “Craftsman” houses.
It is also worth noting that Montgomery County is noted for its presence of mid-century modern homes, including a number of mid-century modern subdivisions.
Those moving to this historic state are often attracted by a strong economy, fueled by new technology, manufacturing, communication and government and defense-related agencies. And of course, those who work and play here also need homes to live in. So whether you’re the type who craves inner-city urban energy or wide-open natural spaces, Maryland is calling your name!
