Lake Barcroft, VA Homes For Sale
Located just north of the Columbia Pike in Fairfax County is the affluent neighborhood of Lake Barcroft. This isn’t the same town as Barcroft, which is also north of the Pike but further east in Arlington. Both communities were named after the same guy, but this one has a lake. Also, the homes for sale tend to be more expensive.
The lake itself is somewhat unusual in that it seems to spike out in all sorts of oddly angled directions. This is an excellent thing for home owners, however, in that it allows for numerous lots that are in close proximity to water.

The town and the lake were named for a long ago prominent businessman, Dr. John Woolverton Barcroft, who owned one of the largest grist mills in the region during the mid-1800s. You’re not apt to find early Colonial or Victorian architecture here however—this residential community of about 10,000 people went through a construction boom that began in the 1950s and continued at a rapid pace until the late 1960s. And while there are some newer custom homes for sale, the majority of properties date to the mid-century era. For more information, check out Lake Barcroft, VA homes for sale below:
