Forest Hills Homes For Sale, Arlington VA
Forest Hills is a very small community in Arlington, Virginia, home to only around 300 residents. It’s also a place with a very narrow range of property types—there’s 130 luxury townhouses and that’s it. Regardless, this is a popular place to live and homes for sale get snapped up quick.
This lovely enclave is located between Fraser Park and James Haley Park just east of the I-395. Neighboring communities include Aurora Hills and Arlington Ridge. And while there’s only 130 properties spread out along four streets, Forest Hills measures .031 square miles. The three and four-story brick residences were built between 1976 and 1979 in the Colonial Revival style. There is some variation from structure to structure, with a variety of roof types including Mansard and traditional gables. The layouts provide more variety with eight different models. Private garages are either on the ground level with adjacent family rooms, or separate from the buildings allowing for ground floors dedicated wholly to living space. There are two, three and four bedroom plans, along with private elevators, fireplaces, patios, libraries, wine rooms and other features.
The location of the neighborhood also plays into its appeal. Pentagon City and Crystal City are next-door to the east, meaning lots of dining and shopping. Those retail features include the Fashion Center Mall, Pentagon Row and the Crystal City Shops. Nearby grocery stores include Harris Teeter, Whole Foods and Market Basket. Plus, commuting is easy via the I-395 as well as the Pentagon City and Crystal City Metro stations.
Also worth noting is the very close proximity to the Army Navy Country Club, which many residents belong to. This community is quite popular with those in the upper levels of Pentagon or military service, as well as other professionals. There’s also lots of organized activities in the neighborhood, including picnics, yard sales and the annual Winter Social. Recent list prices in Forest Hills have ranged from around $800,000 to over a million dollars.
