Douglas Park is also one of several neighborhoods along the Columbia Pike Corridor belonging to the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO). The organization works county government, businesses and local leaders to promote commercial and residential growth. Those efforts are diverse and widespread, including events, a farmers market, a streetscape task force, new condo development and much more.

A new wave of development commenced in the late 1920’s with a construction boom lasting up to the early 1940’s. The post-World War II period catered to a new era of growth—namely the baby boomers.
