The triangular neighborhood is bordered by Columbia Pike to the north, with the neighborhoods of Columbia Forest to the west, Fort Barnard Heights to the south and Arlington Village to the east. Alcova Heights is on the other side of Columbia Pike.

Douglas Park is also one of several neighborhoods along the Columbia Pike Corridor belonging to the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO). The organization works county government, businesses and local leaders to promote commercial and residential growth. Those efforts are diverse and widespread, including events, a farmers market, a streetscape task force, new condo development and much more.
Homes for sale in Douglas Park have quite a history, with the earliest surviving structures dating back to the late 1800’s. A new wave of development commenced in the late 1920’s with a construction boom lasting up to the early 1940’s. The post-World War II period catered to a new era of growth—namely the baby boomers. Yet another period of development occurred recently and is ongoing, ranging from new luxury condos and townhouses for sale to custom single-family homes.
Architectural styles are similarly mixed, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Cape Cod, Craftsman, mid-century garden-style apartments that have been renovated and converted to condos, and newer contemporary designs. Home prices also run the gamut, from around $300,000 to over a million dollars.
There’s quiet tree-lined streets here as well as businesses along the Pike, including cafes, bakeries, bars and more. There’s also restful greenspaces such as Douglas Park, Barcroft Park and Doctor’s Run Park. Schools in the area include Randolph Elementary, Claremont Immersion and Wakefield High.
