Additional Info About Cedar Crossing Condominium Residences
The developers sought to merge historic architecture of the area with new contemporary lines, using a tri-level house-like structure with a wide second-story veranda to anchor one end, and transitioning into a more modern commercial design. Inside, you’ll find spacious residences with open floor plans.
The two-bedroom units come in bi-level townhouse style, usually with three bathrooms. There are hardwood floors in the living areas, and gourmet kitchens with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, pendant lighting and maple cabinets. These contemporary units also have balconies, extra storage and private parking.
Although you will often hear Cedar Crossing referred to as being in historic Takoma Park, the actual location is Takoma on the DC side of the border. Takoma Park and its historic district is on the other side of Eastern Avenue in Maryland. You’d be hard-pressed to know the difference however—the two communities were originally part of the same Victorian resort village developed in 1883.
Those living at Cedar Crossing are in the heart of a delightful old neighborhood that has been trending upward in recent years with upscale transit-oriented development that still recognizes the charm and history of the area. There are numerous nearby amenities, from the next-door Metro to close by bars, food and entertainment, including Takoma Station with live music, pub food and a full bar, and Horace and Dickie’s featuring great seafood.
And if all that isn’t enough, simply cross Eastern Avenue to historic downtown Takoma Park with its Sunday farmer’s market, great shops, and a slew of eateries that include Republic, Olive Lounge, and Roscoe’s Pizzeria. Takoma and its sister city have become increasingly popular—known for wonderful Victorian architecture, a strong sense of community, and affordable real estate prices.
