One of Georgetown’s most iconic buildings, the Canal House was originally built in 1878 to stable horses for the Georgetown Railroad Company. But the railroad was short-lived and soon went into foreclosure. In the 1890s the brick structure was converted into a power generating plant for streetcars, and a century later it was completely renovated and converted into upscale townhouse condos for sale.
