Cameron Station Condos For Sale, Alexandria, VA
Cameron Station is one of Alexandria, Virginia’s most popular master-planned communities. In that sense, it is not a condominium per se, but a neighborhood in which there are many condo buildings, townhouses and even some large single-family homes for sale. There have been five phases of development since 1999, with roughly 2,000 residences delivered to date.
There’s a fascinating history here. This was once a U.S. Army base but was eventually redeveloped into a charming interpretation of an old-fashioned American town. Located in the city’s West End, this upscale community features architecture reminiscent of a bygone era, with Colonial, Victorian and Federal-type designs. Townhouses typically espouse the brick row house style, while flats and loft condos for sale are often found in brick and clapboard structures that are somewhat more contemporary. Add brick sidewalks, old-fashioned street lamps plus a host of amazing amenities, and the result is a very popular destination place for Alexandria home buyers.
There are a number of different condo communities within the overall Cameron Station development. Just a sampling would include Carlton Place, Condominiums at Cameron Boulevard, Main Street Condominium and Oakland Hall at Cameron Station.
You’ll find everything from one and two-bedroom condos to large multistory townhomes and even a smaller number of detached properties. As you might imagine, that means a wide range of prices, starting in the $300s and climbing to seven-figure territory. These are recent construction residences with all of the luxury bells and whistles.
The overall neighborhood is replete with tot lots and large parks, including Armistead Booth and the expansive Ben Brenman Park with its lake. There’s a Main Street Market, Cameron Café, Café Pizzaiolo, a preschool and learning center, and other small businesses. The centerpiece attraction is the Cameron Club with its swimming pool, fitness center, indoor gym and more.
This quintessential community is located in Alexandria’s West End and is conveniently close to the I-395 and the Capital Beltway. Residents also enjoy free bus shuttle service to the Van Dorn Metro. With the West End Farmers Market, the adjacent Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library, a nearby Home Depot and the Portner Brewhouse with family ownership dating back more than a century, this is a place that should be on the map for all condo and townhouse shoppers.
