Calverton, MD Homes For Sale
Calverton is an unincorporated residential development in Maryland that is part of neighboring Beltsville and the larger Silver Spring area. This pleasant community covers 4.6 square miles and has a nice inventory of homes for sale. You won't find as many highs or lows or some other neighboring towns however—Calverton occupies a niche somewhere in the middle.
In fact, it's so much in the middle that it sits on the boundary line between Montgomery and Prince George's County—something of a no-man's land. Perhaps this is why this interesting community tends to fly a little under the radar. Plus, there's not a lot of retail here and certainly not the same type of history as some other Washington Metro neighborhoods. While it is named after Sir George Calvert—the first Lord Baltimore—is wasn't actually “settled” until the mid 1960s. To learn more about Calverton, MD homes for sale, give us a call today!

More About the Calverton Real Estate Market

Turner oversaw the construction of 1,100 single-family homes for sale between 1961 and 1967. The first residents moved into the community in 1965. Since then, more builders have added to the pie, with another 600 detached homes for sale, plus 700 apartment rentals and 220 townhouse condos for sale.
Despite the modest sand pit history, this development turned out just fine with lots of trees, quiet streets, good schools and a very active homeowners association, There are all sorts of sports activities plus a great park with ball fields, tennis courts, a playground, picnic area and hiking paths. There is also the Calverton Pool and Swim Club, as well as fun activities like a Fourth of July parade and picnic.
